FUE OR FUT HAIR TRANSPLANT

The doctors perform two surgical methods for hair restoration: Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) and Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT). Both are minimally invasive procedures where hair follicles are taken from the back of the scalp (the donor area) and placed into areas of thinning, such as the hairline, crown, or mid-scalp.

FUE and FUT each involve relocating natural follicular units, which are small anatomical groupings of one to four hairs along with surrounding tissue. These units naturally grow at different angles and densities, which is carefully considered in the design of your hair transplant.

While both methods can support fuller, natural-looking coverage, they differ in how follicles are harvested and in how the donor area heals. The choice between FUE and FUT depends on factors like your hair characteristics, donor availability, aesthetic goals, and the skill of the doctor.

As with all surgical procedures, both FUE and FUT carry risks such as temporary swelling, visible scabbing, scarring, and downtime. The doctor will discuss the expected recovery, as well as which method may be best suited to your needs during your personalised consultation.

Your procedure plan is developed following a personalised assessment and discussion of your goals. Full details of the procedure, aftercare, risks, and expected outcomes are provided during consultation.

FUE and FUT treatments are available to both men and women and is considered on a case-by-case basis.
